Sunday afternoon service in Budrio - Acts 11:19-12:25

Tomorrow afternoon we'll have our Sunday Evening Family Time as Impatto A Budrio church-plant.

Stefano will lead this Family Time focused on God's Word.

We'll continue our series on the Book of Acts engaging with chapter 11:19-12:25
"Gospel expansion in the midst of
opposition to the Gospel".

Together we'll see how the Gospel of Christ is always victorious even in the midst of opposition and how the Spirit leads the church to be a community in Mission.

Our desire is to grow in our comprehension of the unity we have in Christ and our vision for reaching out the community of Budrio with a sense of the global reality of God's Kingdom.

We'll have a time of vision and prayer followed by a family bring&share meal together.

During this fellowship time we'll share the Lord's Supper to celebrate our union in Chrsit!

My Space Budrio - Club for teens

Tomorrow afternoon we'll have our My Space Budrio club to reach out local teens.

Justin, Carli and Jenny will interact with the YfC Rock Solid material engaging kids with the theme: Bullied or Bully?

Together we'll look at the issue of bullying and its effects.

We'll play different games to illustrate the point of
how it's not nice when we are excluded or unfairly treated,
so we too shouldn't be in involved in treating badly others.
Small actions or throw-away comments can affect people
in ways we never expected. Sometimes people can feel bullied
just because we leave them out of our group of friends.
Let’s be aware of how the things we say and do can affect others.
Let’s try to make everyone feel included.

We'll watch a clip from Jonny English to see in a funny way how we can deal with bullies:

When we'll look at Jesus' life we can see that he loved those who bullied and killed him because of who he was and what he said.

"For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die-- but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:6-8

Porterbrook - Campus Bologna plenary session

Tomorrow from 3.30 to 7.00 pm
in Nuova Vita Church we'll have the
plenary session for students of the
foundation and advanced years of
Porterbrook - Campus Bologna.

Foundation Year 2 students will interact
with the module Apologetics,
led by Stefano, co-pastor of Impatto A Budrio.

In this session,
students will interact with these units:
4. The proof for God
5. Other religions
6. Suffering

About this Course
The Bible calls us to give a defence for the hope we have in Jesus. It's the Christian life that prompts the question, and relationship is the best context to display and explain the hope we have. This course helps us to understand where objections to the Christian faith come from and how to answer them with a relational approach to apologetics.

Advanced Year 3 students will interact
with the module Pastoral Care Part 2,
led by Mark, co-pastor of Nuova Vita.

In this session,
students will interact with these units:
4. Issues In Pastoral Care: Depression Part One
5. Issues In Pastoral Care: Depression Part Two
6. Issues In Pastoral Care: Addictive Behaviour

About this Course
Depression, anxiety, addiction, low self-esteem, and anger affect us all at some point in our lives. What does the gospel have to say to these issues? How should you understand them and what can you say to help? Find Christ centred answers in these 9 units.

Food-bank collection 2015 @ Budrio

Tomorrow 7 Christians from our church-plant will be involved in helping at the second  food-bank collection for the needy families in Budrio organised by the town-hall in partnership with all the local realities who desire to serve those in need.

This event is part of the activities connected with the UN World Day of Social Justice, which promotes an active awareness for global development and
human dignity.

Our desire is to support our community in serving and caring for the needy led by a clear Gospel intentionality. We are really excited because two friends we are getting to know, have volunteered to serve alongside us.
Last year we had a few good conversations about how we want to walk in the steps of a Lord who loved and cared for the needy, in showing that the man's greatest need is met by His loving death on the Cross, the gift of His resurrected life, and a restored relationship with the Father!

Bologna Pastor's Fraternal

This afternoon Jonathan and Stefano will attend the Bologna Pastors' Fraternal.
We'll have time to share and pray for each others and our for churches.
We'll also plan some common outreach events and joined services.

We are moving forward with the idea to adopt the
confessional statement and theological vision for ministry of The Gospel Coalition as defining documents for our network of churches in training and working together.

Sunday Service in Budrio - Acts 9:32-11:18

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service
to worship God together and to proclaim
His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the main room in
Le Torri dell'Acqua, the theatre&modern art-gallery right at the centre of Budrio, well known as a cultural meeting point.

At 10.00 am we'll enjoy our time as a church family
with a lovely breakfast together.

At 10.30 am we'll continue with Stefano
our series on the Book of Acts.

Tomorrow we'll model our prayer time
from the Bible text we are engaging with.

We'll engage in seeing how the Gospel  impacted Aeneas and Tabitha,
so to be challenged to be a church which is really a family actively praying and acting for those who are ill amongst us.
Yet we know that both in sickness and in health our eyes have to be fixed on Jesus
because it is only in Christ that
we can live both for His glory!

Then, we'll engage in seeing how the Gospel
had impacted Tabitha and Cornelius,
so to be challenged in our comprehension of living and proclaiming the Gospel while we live and serve our community.
We want to be a church that support our community in serving and caring for the needy as we walk in the steps of a Lord
who loved and cared for them,
showing that the man's greatest need is met
by His loving death on the Cross,
by the gift of His resurrected life,
and by a restored relationship with the Father!

This is the way we want to pray and being involved in two social activities run by the Budrio's Town Hall in this month:
- a sale of fair-trade oranges
- a food-bank collection for local needy families.

Tomorrow then we'll interact with Acts 9:32-11:18
and we'll engage with Cornelius's conversion.
These will be the main headings:
I. God shows no partiality
II. Jesus Christ is Lord of all.

Jenny will lead the time with the little ones engaging on the same topic, looking together at Acts 10:36.

"So Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.
As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through
Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all)
Acts 10: 34-36 (ESV)

Baptismal Classes in Budrio!

This afternoon we'll continue
our first baptismal classes for
Matteo and Maura, who are going to be baptised
on Easter Sunday.

Today we'll look at the themes of
Sanctification and Discipleship.
We'll engage with these questions:
What is the goal of sanctification? Who does it and how?
How the Gospel is going to impact our characters and
our everyday life priorities
?
Please join us in praying for Matteo and Maura and their personal walk with the Lord alongside our communal walk with the Lord as church family!

Food-bank collection - planning meeting

This afternoon we'll be at the planning meeting for the second  food-bank collection for the needy families in Budrio organised by the town-hall in partnership with all the local realities who desire to serve those in need.

Sunday Service in Budrio - Acts 9:1-31

Tomorrow we'll have our morning service
to worship God together and to proclaim
His Word in Budrio.

We are glad for the Lord's provision of the main room in
Le Torri dell'Acqua, the theatre&modern art-gallery right at the centre of Budrio, well known as a cultural meeting point.

At 10.00 am we'll enjoy our time as a church family
with a lovely breakfast together.

At 10.30 am we'll continue with Stefano
our series on the Book of Acts.

Tomorrow we'll interact with Acts 9:1-30 and we'll engage
with Paul's conversion. These will be the main headings:

I. A sighted who is blind, or a blind man who sees well?
II. An extraordinary conversion, or an ordinary conversion?

Jenny will lead the time with
the little ones engaging on
the same topic, looking together
at Acts 9:1-31.

Together we'll see how Paul's conversion follows the same pattern of every conversion:

1. Gospel: It's Christ who comes to us through his Word,

2. Community: It's Christ who saves us and makes us active members of his family,

3. Mission: It's Christ who is at our side while together we witnesses the Gospel at home, in our neighbourhood and to the ends of the earth.

Tomorrow, in following the pattern of Acts 1:8, we'll start our service with a time of prayer characterized by thanksgiving and casting a vision for God's work in our community and globally.

We'll pray for "our home" interceding for those who are sick,
especially for Jonathan's parents in UK.

We'll pray for "our neighbour" in our community in Budrio,
especially for the coming food-bank collection,
in which we are going to be involved!

Then we'll pray for "the end of the earth".
After the visit last week of Annette's sister and her family who were missionaries in Ukraine, we'll pray especially for this troubled country and the church there!

My Space Budrio - Club for teens

Tomorrow afternoon we'll have our My Space Budrio club to reach out local teens.

We'll interact with the YfC Rock Solid material engaging with
the theme: All you need is love!

Tomorrow it's Valentine Day,
so we'll explore with kids all the various aspects of love.

We'll play different games such as Chores Charades, Getting Connected and In Love,
which will help us to understand what does it mean to be loved and how we can love people.

Justin will lead a talk on Love your enemies,
engaging kids with the feelings we have in facing violent people and the modern challenge we live with the ISIS.

How should we respond to such attacks?
Is it possible to respond in love? How?

With Stefano we'll explore the question: how can we know that God loves us?
To answer this question we'll watch a clip where Nick Vujicic tells his incredible testimony:

We'll conclude engaging with Jesus' real and sacrificial love:
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die-but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:7-8 (ESV)
